FAQs
What is a Cleaning Audit?
An Audit is when we will take measurements and assess fabrics, styles and anything else that will prepare us for the job.
A certified Technician will come to your home and audit your carpets, upholstery, rugs, stone, tile and grout for free. There is no cost and no obligation of any kind. At your cleaning audit, we will take measurements, test carpet fiber or surface, discuss spots, determine traffic lanes and soiled areas, verify access from truck mounted unit and answer all and any questions you might have. You will then receive an easy to read itemized estimate. We have discovered that an agreed upon price and preparations for the job are worth the extra step.
Do I need to have a Cleaning Audit every time I want to have the same area cleaned?
It depends if you haven’t had us clean the area in a long time (3+ years) we might need to re-audit the area. That is why we recommend that you have areas audited that might be cleaned in the future at the time of your original cleaning audit.
Do you have a minimum? If so what is it?
We have different minimums for different services. The reason we have a minimum is because no matter the size of a job, there is a cost to put a technician and a truck on the road. Please call our office to find out more about our minimums.
What kind of payment methods do you except? Do you invoice?
We accept Visa, Master Card, and Discover Card. We also accept cash and checks. We expect to receive payment at time of cleaning. There are special exceptions for commercial properties and insurance involved cases. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the office to learn more.
Are the chemicals you use to clean safe for my kids and pets?
Yes. All chemicals are safe for animals and humans. Also the chemicals are extremely diluted with water.
What is a truck mounted unit?
A truck mounted unit is a large devise mounted to the inside of our carpet truck. This unit creates the right heat and suction to clean.
What is Hot Water Extraction cleaning?
Hot water extraction is the actions we take to clean with the truck mounted unit. A machine in our van heats up water with chemical which is strategically dispersed on carpet. The same machine creates a powerful suction that removes the water and pollutants back into a separate tank.
What is Low Moisture cleaning?
Low Moisture cleaning is when a Portable machine is used to clean. The portable does not create heat and uses much less water because it has less suction. This method is used on certain fabric and in certain locations that a truck mounted cant access. It’s also used in emergency soil treatments of small areas.
Does your cleaning process kill dust mites?
Normal maintenance cleaning of both residential and corporate interiors is not intended to kill any living organism. However, during the cleaning process we will remove large numbers of dust mites as well as their eggs and food source. By removing the dust mites and their eggs we can slow down the rate of reproduction and thus reduce the chances of an allergic reaction. Dust mites can never be totally eliminated from an indoor environment, but with proper housekeeping techniques and timely professional fabric cleaning they can be held to a manageable level.
What should I do if I come home to water damage?
1. AVOID HAZARDS! Be extremely careful of the deadly combination of water and electricity. Also be cautious of slipper wet carpets and floors. Stay away from raw sewage backups, which contain bacteria that can be harmful to your health.
2. STOP THE SOURCE! If you haven’t located the source of the water, call us immediately and we will guide you through this. It is crucial that this is done quickly and properly.
3. TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION by calling Town & Country Services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will always be able to locate one of our emergency response experts. After your call, we are on our way!
4. REMOVE FURNITURE! Wood furniture will cause stains which cannot be removed. Rust stains from metal are difficult to remove and may be permanent. 95% if water damage jobs are restorable, Most of the remaining 5%are caused by not following these steps. So move furniture that’s in or even near the water, or place something under the legs.
What is Ice Damming?
Ice Dams are caused by a buildup of ice at the eves of your roof, usually they form when we have had at least 3 or more inches of snow. The warm air that escapes into your attic melts the snow layer on the roof and the water trickles down to the cold eves where it freezes, forming a dam where more water can build up and then back up under the roof shingles. The water will eventually leak into your home. It’s important to note that even if the water is still coming into your home we need to start the drying process as soon as possible.
How do I prevent ice damming?
To prevent ice dams; rake the built up snow from the eves or install electrical roof heat cables, this will allow the water to run off the roof. CAUTION; do not climb on the roof to chip the ice away! Damage to yourself or your roof can result. Instead use calcium chloride, not rock salt. Fill a leg of pantyhose and lay it across the roof and gutter to melt a channel in the ice. Calcium chloride can also be placed in the gutter to melt the ice buildup. Also, we recommend that residents with decks should keep them shoveled in the winter after a snow storm for emergencies.
